out of ll these i find sign language to b more interesting. there are different sign languages that vary from place-to-place. wen i was doing my post graduation at vizag, i've learnt communicating in sign lang using both hands. here i've learnt to form a-z alphabet using either single/ both the hands. it's great. i taught this to few of my frns. i used this as a technique to help my frns from slipping their tongues while spking to strangers , teachers etc.
recently i've started learning ASL= American Sign Language and i thoroughly enjoy using it.
the specialty of ASL is we use only 1 hand n u know it's universal. at NIHH(national institute for the hearing handicapped) ,(note we r not supposed to call them as deaf n dumb but hearing n speech impaired) i found many hyderabadis using ASL for communication.
i found it difficult to communicate in sign lang using spellings at an ashram(i spoke abt it in one of my first few posts) becoz the children over there dunno English lang n so it was difficult. still i cud use spellings in asking for a particular child by forming name. \m/
if we learn it, we'll b able to help ourselves n our frns n sometimes even help children/adults with hearing and speech impairments for an effective communication.
am providing links. readers who are interested can follow or u can simply ignore.
