Got confused???? reading such scripts is a dialy job for me. I read and write mirror images with no pains.

It got startled to see some slides in a workshop for remedial teachers. They show how a child with dyslexia sees, reads and writes. Not all of 'em but yeah few of the slides surprised me to know that they are unusual and not everyone sees some patterns in the printed scripts. I see some of them. I'm happy to know that I WAS A CHILD WITH LD. For some children the letters jumble, for some they fly, for some they get washed out. there are several different types and some are still unidentified.

I remember I used to cry everyday;those scoldings at home and school still echo. I used to feel as if I was in a place called vertigo city...reeling sensation. I used to lock myself in washrooms very frequently after a big bang/bash at home. (sometimes even now, lol). I hated to read and I hate it forever. Printed material is always a big problem for me. Thanks to my dad for buying me a lappy, I dont have problem reading and writing online. My handwriting still sucks.

I never know all these untill I started teaching children with disabilities as a hobby. My only aim is to teach a child the way the child learns, not the way I want to teach. My lovely little children are the prodigies. I feel so lucky to teach and work with them.

Not many parents and teachers understand what Learning Disabilities(LD) are. If they can understand the child will be the most luckiest and we can extend the best help to make the child cope up with the rest of the world. Dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc learning disabilites and not diseases that can be cured with medicines. They are disorders of reading, writing, mental arithmetics etc. these children can only be taught in a special way how to cope up.

Teaching children with special needs is quite challenging. Thses children have some side effects like, less attention span, short term memory, slow learnining, low IQ, short temper, lack of cognitive skills etc. Each child is different in its own way.

Many think that I'm doing social service at this age. lol. It's not exactly that. I know what I wanted and how I wanted things to be and so I do that. I'm confident enough: I'll be successful in this career because I undrestand special needs. For me every child is special. There is happiness and life in doing something challenging, adventurous.

There is lack of awareness in parents and teachers about the children with special needs. Spread this word. Help every child.

A child with Learning Disabilities is like a batsman who knows how to bat but is given a broken bat to bat with.

Confessions of a Workoholic

It's said that "Today's children are tomorrow’s building blocks of our Nation" in that case today's building blocks are we the young minds. We have to work for our mother India for her better tomorrow and for her today's children. There is a great need in our country to work for children with special needs, in western countries there is a demand for the same. Need is important or demand, which one to opt? India comes first. Help the needy. Those whose hearts bleed for the poor, them I call Mahatmans, and the rest are Dhuratmans. A country is developed if everyone’s needs are fulfilled. Education is the main hero here. Westernization of India should be in the form of Education, Science and Technology not by the Costumes and Cultures. The very secret of life is not enjoyment but education through experience. We need to educate ourselves and others by which character is developed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one's own feet. Neither money pays, nor the name, nor fame, it is learning through experiences and the character that can cleave through the adamantine walls of difficulties. This has to be taught. We are the super minds, with muscles made of iron, and nerves made of current; our every work should infect the lazy lives, inspire the ignorant souls and invoke every living being on the earth to work, work for the benefit of people, work for our mother India, and work for oneself. Work, work work. Work like you are born to work. Kill the work and create the work. Rest not till a new work is formed. Feel the hero in you, wake him up, bring him out, expose him to the nation, show the heroism in a good way, and inspire the young souls. Stand as a role model. No child should be left behind, hold the hands together. Every child is special, special in its own talents and needs. We have to indentify and interfere. Appreciate and encourage. Patience and acceptance are essential. Rest all, along with the success, will come and fall in place and follow you. Come let's work. Let’s change, let's save the children- the budding minds, let's nurture with love, and let’s build our Nation. We the people of India should resolve to our Nation to do justice, to be loyal and equal, to unite and to integrate. JAI HO! In the name of a well built India.
